With the arrest of five persons, Delhi Police said on Saturday that it has busted a fake job racket as part of which, the accused allegedly cheated more than 100 aspirants by promising placements in reputed companies and extorted over Rs 15 lakh from them.

The racket was being run under the guise of a placement agency named Skill Innovation Solution from Kotla Mubarakpur in South Delhi .

Police identified the accused as Shahdara resident Tariq Khan — the mastermind — and his associates Kapil, Tannu, Adiba, and Shahana. Police said the gang lured job seekers through online job portals, conducted fake interviews, and demanded money as “security” or “processing fees.” Once the payments were made, the victims neither received job offers nor any refunds.
