BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed three people were arrested after a drug investigation led to a pursuit and the discovery of several pounds of marijuana and a firearm.

Officials said the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, near Shay Avenue and Marque Ann Drive. Officers with BRPD were conducting patrols in the area when they tried to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.

According to police, the vehicle refused to stop, leading to a short vehicle and foot pursuit. Officers eventually detained the driver and two passengers.

Investigators said the arrests led to the seizure of several pounds of marijuana, a firearm, and video equipment.
