MONETT, Mo. - The Monett Police Department was involved with a school safety investigation at the Monett High School after concerns were raised about a student potentially bringing a handgun to school.
Police officers met with all parties involved and determined "at no time have officers identified any credible, ongoing threat to the school," according to a press release from MPD.
In the release, police say they will notify parents and guardians if a credible threat does arise.
"Our School Resource Officers (SROs) have been notified and will be on duty and present at their assigned campuses," the release said. "If anyone has a concern, we encourage you to report it to the appropriate SRO. This incident remains under investigation."
