MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Texas Tech overcame a historic pitfall by defeating Kansas State 43-20 in Manhattan. The Red Raiders had another impressive second half effort to secure their first road win over the Wildcats since 2008.

FIRST QUARTER

Texas Tech began the afternoon on a sour note, as quarterback Behren Morton would throw an interception on his first drive back in action. The Red Raiders defense would cancel out the miscue with a quick interception of their own, courtesy of Brice Pollock.

Despite the big defensive play, the offense would be unable to put points on the scoreboard and would send the ball back to the Wildcats. K-State marched down the field on a five-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a long run from Wildcats quarterback Avery Johnson for the game's first score.
