The recent murder of journalist Rajiv Pratap, known for his investigations into political scandals, has renewed focus on the dangers faced by journalists in India. Pratap went missing on September 18, 2025 in Uttarakhand and his body was found 10 days later at the Joshiyara hydroelectric barrage in Uttarkashi district.
