Teesside Live readers are not entirely happy to hear that Redcar and Cleveland council is set to review plans for a new weekly food waste recycling scheme. The council’s cabinet will discuss the proposals when they meet on Tuesday, November 4.
The new service, which will be available to every household in the borough, is due to launch in spring 2026 to meet upcoming Government requirements. Residents will receive a 5-litre kitchen caddy, compostable liners, and a 23-litre kerbside container, with collections scheduled to begin weekly from next spring.
