More storms are possible on Sunday, but the worst of the system that brought devastating hail to some parts of south-east Queensland has likely passed.
Patches of heavy rain are likely for at least the next two days in Brisbane.
“The rest of today is a little less severe,” senior meteorologist Angus Hines said.
“There’s still a chance of severe thunderstorms.
“Even though the risk is not as extensive … I expect we will still see pockets that are pretty damaging and disruptive.”
Heavy rain, lightning and hail lashed the south-east on Saturday, with multiple people injured.
Up to 40 millimetres fell during a short burst in Brisbane, with wind speeds of more than 100 kilometres per hour recorded. In some parts of the Darling Downs rainfall was well over double that.
