An investigation is underway after a teenager was found shot in the hand in Southwest Miami-Dade on Saturday night, deputies said.
Around 8:04 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of 11345 SW 191 Ln regarding a "shooting involving a juvenile" near South Miami Heights.
MDSO said that the teen was walking north toward a restaurant when he was shot in the hand. He then ran to seek help, and that's when a good Samaritan stepped in and kept him safe until deputies and paramedics arrived.
At the scene, numerous spent bullet casings were found by deputies when they arrived on the scene. At this time, no suspects are in custody, MDSO said.
Witnesses told CBS News Miami that they were very disappointed that this happened on a Saturday night, as children were playing outside
