JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Halloween might be over, but one scare isn't going away: the thought of hundreds of Jacksonville cats and dogs spending the holidays in a shelter.
Animal Care and Protective Services , Jacksonville's municipal animal shelter, is offering free adoptions all November long to help get its animals into loving homes.
While that adoption waiver is active throughout the month, efforts will be especially active on the weekends during special themed community events, kicking off with Florida-Georgia weekend.
Saturday, Nov. 8, ACPS and some of its dogs will be set up at Porchfest, an annual music festival in historic Springfield.
