LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday night responded to multiple street takeovers at intersections in neighborhoods including Pacoima and Echo Park as crowds of Dodger fans celebrated the team's World Series victory over the Blue Jays.

In the late afternoon, the LAPD declared a citywide tactical to prepare for any possible public response to Game Seven, an LAPD spokesperson said.

The precautionary tactical alert was issued at 5:45 p.m. Saturday as the winner-take-all game was underway in Toronto.

After the Dodgers sealed the win in the 11th inning, fans took to the streets for revelry in downtown L.A. and other areas.
