Earlier this week, the Bidhannagar Police received a message they had long awaited. The WhatsApp group ‘All States v/s Ajay K Investigation’ showed that the Kerala Police had detained Ajay K, also known as Karupati Ajay — a master con man described by one officer as the “most cunning fraudster” they had seen in recent times.
Within hours, a special team reached Aluva in Kerala’s Ernakulam and took into custody Ajay K — a 25-year-old Telugu-speaking Bengalurean who allegedly conned people of at least Rs 2 crore.
