The Irish entered the contest as 29.5-point favorites over the Eagles, per ESPN BET. However, the Irish created extra work for themselves via a lost fumble by running back Jadarian Price and three missed kicks.

Erik Schmidt missed a 35-yard field goal attempt with time expiring in the second quarter that would have given the Irish a 15-7 advantage at halftime. Instead, Boston College made it a two-point game after making a field goal of their own on the opening possession of the second half.
