The other day, I was listening to a playlist when the song that I walked down the aisle to at my wedding came on. Hearing it stopped me. It pulled me back into that moment in my life and I found myself reflecting on what it meant then and what it means to me now.
I walked down the aisle to a song called “Yo Vengo a Ofrecer mi Corazón.” In English, it means “I come to offer my heart.”
I chose it during a time when love itself was teaching me something new. When joy and sorrow stood side by side, both asking to be felt. The song felt truer than anything I could say out loud. It reached into some ancient place within me that seemed to remember what my mind struggled to. It said, “walk forward.”
