A South Bay woman already grieving the loss of her father she returned to his home only to find it ransacked.
Kathleen Taormina says not long after the death of her 85-year-old father Frank, burglars targeted his Los Gatos home.
She said they broke in through a back window and stole sterling silverware and jewelry.
“There were things from my great grandma that were passed to my mom that we’re not worth a lot, but they were worth a lot to us,” Taormina said.
Two guns were also stolen.
“It’s vile, I feel violated,” Taormina said.
Taormina says the break-in happened last Monday just one day after she posted an obituary in the San Jose Mercury News and on Facebook. She believes the burglars decided to target the home after seeing the obituary.
