ONA – On its home course, Cabell Midland captured the WVSSAC girls Class AAAA state cross country championship on Saturday, while Herbert Hoover’s Maysen Fletcher and Charleston Catholic’s Bella Boggs took home individual titles.

Backed by senior Savannah Pritt’s second-place finish, the Knights scored 45 points. Pritt posted a time of 18:41.87 to finish behind individual champion Brenna Tipton of Wheeling Park.

“I just knew I had to leave it all out there for my team,” said Pritt, whose time was a personal best on the campus course.

The title served as redemption for the Knights' runner-up finish last season in Class AAA. The 2025 state meet was the first with four classifications.

Cabell Midland, a first-time champion, placed four runners in the top 10, including Pritt.
