ANN ARBOR – Michigan football eked out a win over Purdue Saturday , overcoming a pair of red zone turnovers and an inconsistent offense to claim a 21-16 victory and improve to 7-2.

The Wolverines struggled to convert long drives into points for much of the night, with quarterback Bryce Underwood finishing just 13 of 22 for 145 yards with an red zone interception and fumble into the endzone that was ruled a touchback.

The Wolverines were depleted, with six players including star running back Justice Haynes ruled out due to injury.

Michigan’s defense stepped up, with senior end Derrick Moore recording two sacks and a forced fumble, while linebacker Ernest Hausmann led all defenders with 11 tackles. Moore has recorded two sacks in three straight games.
