BOISE, Idaho — Winter is on its way, and so is a long-running Treasure Valley tradition.

The 74th annual Bogus Basin Ski Swap kicked off this week at Expo Idaho, drawing crowds from across the Northwest to what organizers call the largest ski and snowboard swap in the region. The event not only helps locals gear up for the winter season but also supports young athletes through the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation (BBSEF).

BBSEF, a nonprofit organization, works to make snow sports more affordable and accessible for youth, from beginners to competitive racers.

“We’ve got six-year-olds all the way through 18-year-olds competing,” said Nick Sabin, a BBSEF coach.
