Gavin Reece's rebound finish with 12 minutes, 30 seconds left in the second overtime was the difference after nearly 98 scoreless minutes, giving top-seed Burr and Burton a 1-0 victory over No. 3 and two-time defending champion Champlain Valley in the Division I high school boys soccer championship game at Virtue Field on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The victory sealed an unbeaten season for the Bulldogs (16-0-1), clinched the program's first title in D-I and wrapped a return to glory for the first time since winning the D-II crown in 2012.
