Michigan’s football team entered Saturday as a heavy favorite against Purdue but was pushed to the brink by the Boilermakers.

The 21st-ranked Wolverines ended up closing out the Boilermakers for a 21-16 victory, but it wasn’t a sharp performance from the Wolverines (7-2, 5-1 Big Ten) entering a bye.

They held the advantage in total yards, 398-276, but lost the turnover battle 2-0.

Here’s what’s being said nationally after Michigan’s victory over Purdue (2-7, 0-6).
