Aussies are calling for a Metallica and The Wiggles collaboration after a photo of James Hetfield posing for a photo with Blue Wiggle Anthony Field in Perth sent fans into a spin.

Metallica rocked out to tens of thousands of metalheads at Optus Stadium on Saturday night for the start of their world tour, and frontman Hetfield found time to take a photo with a number one fan and friend.

The Wiggles shared the happy snap of the two musicians to social media, where the pair are seen putting their arms around each other and beaming widely for the camera.

“Anthony and James Hetfield from Metallica catching up in Perth tonight,” the post’s caption read.

“The guys had a great laugh remembering when Captain Feathersword sang Enter Sandman at a Wiggles show years ago.
