SEVEN years after he crashed into a house, a serial disqualified driver was behind the wheel again and on the run from police when he slammed into a ute at East Maitland.

Jason Jones, now 35, narrowly avoided jail in 2018 after he embedded a Holden Commodore into the bedroom of a home at New Lambton, injuring a 73-year-old woman inside.

The crash was the sixth time Jones had been caught driving while disqualified in three years and blood tests later revealed he was under the influence of methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Fast-forward to June 6 this year and, despite being disqualified from driving until 2036, Jones was behind the wheel of a black Holden Caprice and driving around East Maitland with a baton and a wad of cash and drugs in his Gucci bag.
