ANN ARBOR, Michigan — Ryan Browne had 20 friends and family members watching Purdue football inside Michigan Stadium on Saturday night.

About an hour from where Browne grew up in Clarkston, Michigan, the Boilermaker quarterback played his first college game in his home state.

It wasn't the outcome Browne hoped for, but his hometown fanbase may have seen a turning point in Purdue football under Barry Odom.

The Boilermakers three touchdown underdogs at Michigan and when the final seconds ticked away, the Wolverines were exhaling a 21-16 escape .

"I know there’s stairs we still got to climb, but we’re going to keep going up," said cornerback Tony Grimes , who now is down to his final three college football games remaining.
