Ann Arbor — A balanced offense is the goal. Sure, you can lean heavily on the run game, but strong offenses, offenses that can carry a team into the postseason, need to know there’s a reliable pass game.

Right now, that can’t be said for Michigan.

For the second straight game Michigan did not have a passing touchdown but it came away with victories at Michigan State and a 21-16 victory on Saturday night against Purdue . Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood was 13 of 22 for 145 yards, took two sacks and had two red zone turnovers, an interception and a fumble. A week earlier at Michigan State, he was 8 of 17 for 86 yards.
