SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - South Dakota State punched its ticket to the Summit League tournament semifinals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Omaha on Saturday afternoon at Fishback Soccer Park.

The win propels the Jackrabbits (11-2-6) into a semifinal showdown against Denver in Tulsa, Okla., on Thursday.

The match’s lone goal came early in the first half.

SDSU freshman Jenna Maloy headed in a shot on a cross from Zoe Wittkop to give SDSU the advantage in the seventh minute.

The goal marked Maloy’s sixth of the season while Wittkop and Bosch registered assists on the play.

SDSU applied consistent offensive pressure and controlled the pace throughout the first half, firing 12 shots with four on target, while holding Omaha to just one attempt over the opening 45 minutes.
