MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Another air traffic controller shortage caused delays in Nashville on Friday.
It's the latest impact on air travel from the government shutdown.
Retired FedEx executive David Gagnon predicts the timing of the shutdown could lead to delays before the holidays.
“I mean, you couldn't pick a worse time, right?” asked Gagnon, who worked at FedEx for 40 years.
He now teaches logistics at the University of Memphis.
Thankfully, Gagnon does not believe the shutdown will impact the hours of employees at the FedEx World Hub.
"I don't think there are any jobs at risk specifically from this," Gagnon said. "If anything, if it slows down, you may be working even more hours to try to catch up and make sure the customer gets what they need."
