Man charged with list of alleged offences over alleged police car ramming that saw officer hospitalised and another injured

A man is facing a raft of charges after a police car was allegedly rammed and an officer was hospitalised.

The patrol vehicle sustained significant damage in the incident in Melbourne’s south-east in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Two officers had spotted two males allegedly running from a residence on Ethereal Way at Sandhurst about 1am, Victoria Police said in a statement.

The men were then allegedly seen getting into a white Ford Ranger before officers followed the vehicle into Toporoa Court.

Police then parked behind the vehicle after it allegedly parked in a residential driveway.

The officer’s car was then allegedly repeatedly rammed by the Ford Ranger, with a passenger fleeing the scene on foot.
