The Department for Work and Pensions has confirmed the exact date when a Universal Credit payment will be reduced by half and frozen. A new law will slash the amount offered to those who are unable to work due to sickness or disability.

The Limited Capability for Work and Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) element provides an extra monthly sum on top of someone's Universal Credit entitlement. It can be awarded after a claimant has submitted doctor's notes and had a work capability assessment.
