LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Kauaʻi community gathered to celebrate the life of kumu hula Leināʻala Pavao-Jardin Saturday.
Hundreds packed into Kilohana Plantation Lū’au Hale to honor and remember her.
Pavao-Jardin died last month at the age of 51 after complications from pancreatic cancer.
She led Hālau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leināʻala to victory at the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival and is also the kumu of the reigning Miss Aloha Hula.
