Auto restorations are most often done with the hope of returning a vehicle to the road. However, earlier this year when a 1963 Cadillac convertible that sat atop Calgary’s Bowness-area Angel’s Drive In was vandalized with spray paint, employees at a local auto shop rallied simply to restore its shine and return it to the rooftop. “A few of our employees listen to CJAY 92,” says Derek Zuck, owner of Legacy Speed and Body. “And one morning, as they were driving to work, they heard CJAY hosts talking about the graffiti on the Angel’s Cadillac and how CJAY had started a fundraiser to help pay for repairs.” Gathered in Legacy’s Strathmore shop, the employees all began talking about donating their time and materials to help restore the Cadillac. Zuck was all for it.
