**Wales Family Settles into New Home Amid Controversy** The Prince and Princess of Wales have officially moved into their new residence, Forest Lodge, located in Windsor Great Park. This Georgian mansion, featuring eight bedrooms and designated as a Grade II Listed building, marks a significant step for William and Kate as they settle in with their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The timing of the move coincided with the children’s school half-term break, allowing the family to transition smoothly into their new environment. This relocation is viewed as a fresh start for the Wales family, particularly following Kate’s recent recovery from cancer. The move comes just before William is scheduled to travel to Rio de Janeiro for the Earthshot Prize awards. However, the relocation has sparked some controversy among local residents. In preparation for the family's arrival, security measures have been heightened, resulting in restrictions within the park. Parts of the estate have been closed off to the public, including the Cranbourne Gate and its associated car park, which are now inaccessible for security reasons. Local dog walkers and park visitors have expressed frustration over these changes. Residents living within half a mile of the estate have been given the option to apply for a gate key, available for an annual fee of £110. Additionally, a 150-acre exclusion zone has been established, with new fencing erected around sections of the 2.3-mile perimeter. Trespassing in these restricted areas is now classified as a criminal offence under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. Forest Lodge, previously known as Holly Grove, was constructed in the 1770s to serve as the residence for the park’s deputy ranger. The Crown Estate acquired the property in 1829, and it has a rich history, having once been home to Edward VIII’s equerry, Sir John Aird. Although it was once considered as a potential residence for the Princess Royal and later for Sarah, Duchess of York, neither ultimately took up residence there. The move also places the Wales family closer to William’s uncle, Andrew Windsor, who resides at Royal Lodge, just 1.4 miles away. Andrew is expected to vacate his current home next year, relocating to a property on the Sandringham estate after losing his titles due to ongoing controversies surrounding his connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Both the Prince and Princess of Wales are reported to fully support the King’s decision to distance the royal family from Andrew. In addition to their new home at Forest Lodge, the Wales family maintains their property on the Sandringham Estate, Anmer Hall, a ten-bedroom residence. They will also continue to use Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace as their official address in London.
