An advisory has been issued by the Goa government alerting the public and pet owners about the rising cases of Canine Distemper. The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AHVS) on Thursday issued an alert after cases of canine distemper were recently reported in some parts of the state, according to a Times of India report.
The infection, caused by the Canine Distemper Virus (CDV), primarily affects dogs. The unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated dogs face a higher risk of the disease.
