Just when it seems like the world is out of surprises, a new species comes creeping out of the shadows to shake things up. While many new species are still being discovered in remote regions like the Amazon Rainforest of South America , such discoveries are less common in America's most populated state.
Researchers from the University of California, Davis, discovered a tiny trapdoor spider that was previously thought to be a variety of another species before genetic testing proved otherwise.
