FARGO — While still empty, the new Red River Regional Dispatch Center is shaping up to be a home away from home for the area’s 911 dispatchers.
The finishing touches are going into the new north Fargo facility for the dispatch team that serves Cass and Clay counties. Along with upgrades to technology, the new space provides ample room and creature comforts for dispatchers, who work long shifts answering emergency calls.
Staff comfort was a priority when designing the new facility, Director Amanda Glasoe said.
“The dispatchers spend 10-, 12-plus hours a day at these positions, so making sure that they’re comfortable that whole time is pretty important,” Glasoe said.
Staff are expected to begin working from the new facility in early December.
