AHOSKIE, N.C. (WITN) - Ahoskie Police are investigating after a man was shot inside a lounge early Saturday morning.

Police say it happened at the Metro Lounge on Main Street just after 1:00 a.m.

When they arrived, police say they found a man from inside the lounge suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan hospital, but was airlifted to another medical facility for further treatment.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the Ahoskie Police Department at 252-332-5011.
