Joseph Mason, of Mason Hills Farm in Grand Bay, has formed a nonprofit organization to help others.

Farmers in Action is a way for the businessman to share with others. Currently, stores in Grand Bay and Ocean Springs, Miss., are providing those in need with a pound of protein.

“Since I started Mason Hills Farm, it has been all about making sure that we can eat clean,” Mason told 1819 News. “Then it just occurred to me that as the economy is slowing and the farm has slowed, we should give things away,”

Mason said he believes everyone should have access to high-quality protein, and that’s what he wants to provide. However, giving back is nothing new at Mason Hills Farm.
