Patchy dense fog across the state this morning, especially over eastern Iowa, will give way to more sunshine by this afternoon and the beginning of a warm-up. Temperatures should be very mild to start the work week, with several days in the 60s.

Skies cleared out overnight as yesterday's clouds and rain pushed out of the area. However, the clear skies and left over moisture set the stage for dense fog to develop, especially near and east of I-35. The fog has been thickest over eastern Iowa, but some pockets of fog have developed around the metro as well.
