Authorities are seeking the unidentified driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a Marshalltown woman and then fled the scene.

The Iowa State Patrol said the accident occurred at 10:05 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, as Melanie Katherine Nelson, 30, of Marshalltown, was crossing South Third Avenue just south of its intersection with East Main Street. No further details were provided about the truck. Marshalltown police aided in the investigation.
