INDIANAPOLIS -- When Pascal Siakam caught a skip pass from Jarace Walker at the top of they key with 37 seconds to go and the game tied, he felt like he was operating with space for the first time in hours.
For his first season and a half with the Pacers , Siakam had the benefit of being the second line on opponents' scouting reports under Tyrese Haliburton and of having several other scorers available to draw attention. But now with Haliburton out for the year, center Myles Turner gone to the Bucks and four other key rotation players -- Andrew Nembhard , T.J. McConnell , Bennedict Mathuri n and Obi Toppin -- out with injuries, Siakam is one of just two healthy available Pacers players who finished among the top eight scorers on the team that made last year's NBA Finals.
