The defense was abysmal. The offense was inept. And, on top of that, the Colorado Buffaloes had a major penalty issue for the first time this season.
During Saturday’s 52-17 loss to Arizona at Folsom Field, the Buffs were flagged a season-high 14 times for 110 yards.
The Buffs came into the game as one of the least-penalized teams in the Big 12, but more than doubled its previous season high of six penalties (four times).

Not quite. The Buffs were hit with 17 penalties during a 46-43 overtime loss to Stanford on Oct. 13, 2023. They were also penalized 14 times in a win at Texas Tech on Nov. 9, 2024.
But it was uncharacteristic for this team, which was averaging just 5.0 penalties
