Two British nationals in their 30s are being held at separate police stations after a knife attack on a train on Saturday evening.

Several victims were left fighting for their lives following a series of stabbings on board the 6.25pm London North Eastern Railway (LNER) service travelling from Doncaster to London .

Ten people were admitted to hospital last night, nine of whom were being treated for life-threatening injuries.

In an statement issued at the scene of the crime in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, this morning, Superintendent John Loveless of the British Transport Police revealed details of the suspects and gave an update on those injured.
