YANKTON, SD (KELO) -- Police in Yankton are warning the public about fake money turning up.
They received a report about a counterfeit fifty-dollar bill.
Police say the bill actually passed the marker test, but lacked a security strip.
The marker is a counterfeit detector pen that determines whether or not a bill's paper is genuine.
They're urging people to verify the authenticity of their money and call police if someone attempts to pass a fake bill.
