Rachel Reeves has been slapped with a tax warning after an economist says there is a "hell of a lot of work" to be done. The Labour Party Chancellor has been warned ahead of the looming Autumm Budget on November 26.

Speaking to GB News hosts Tom Harwood and Dawn Neesom, Mitchell Palmer from the Adam Smith Institute gave the chilling verdict that, quite simply, "the numbers don't look great".

"The Government left itself very little headroom at the last Budget," he said. The economist warned: "There's a hell of a lot of work to do."
