India launched the Indian Navy's GSAT 7R (CMS-03) communication satellite from SDSC SHAR at 5:26 IST, on 2 nd November, carrying India’s heaviest communication satellite to GTO.
According to ANI, it is an indegeously developed satellite that weighs around 4400kg. Ahead of the launch, the weather, ISRO said, was favorable and systems nominal.
The satellite is expected to enhance the Navy’s space-based communications and maritime domain awareness capabilities with indigenous, state-of-the-art components developed specifically to meet the Indian Navy’s operational requirements.
