ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - No. 8 Georgia Tech’s undefeated season is no more, as the Yellow Jackets (8-1 (5-1 ACC)) were upset by the North Carolina State Wolfpack 48-36 on Saturday night.
And it ended with Wolfpack fans storming to midfield to celebrate a massive win.
Wolfpack quarterback CJ Bailey tore apart Tech’s defense, throwing for 340 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Duke Scott added 196 yards on 24 carries — including a game-deciding 30-yard touchdown run with 4:07 left in the game - in place of Hollywood Smothers.
Georgia Tech (8-1, 5-1) entered with its first 8-0 start since 1966 and joined No. 15 Virginia as the only teams unbeaten in ACC play.
