Saturday Afternoon, A citywide prayer walk was held gathering spiritual leaders and people of faith in the Erie area to pray for a for a call to justice. The prayer walk started on German Street which is near the location where Marchello Woodard was shot and killed by a state parole officer.
"Marchello Woodard was killed right across the street from our church here, so he's the foundation for this prayer walk," said Valerie Perkins, leader of social justice at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist church. When asked why she believes the prayer walk is important she said, "Injustice for one is injustice for all. A threat to justice for one is a threat to justice everywhere.
