Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his criticism of the Opposition's INDIA bloc during campaign rallies in Bihar's Arrah, Bhojpur, and Nawada districts. He accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of coercing the Congress into naming Tejashwi Yadav as their chief ministerial candidate. Modi claimed that the Congress was reluctant to accept Yadav but was pressured by the RJD, stating, "The RJD secured it by placing a katta on the head of the Congress." He described the RJD's tactics as a reflection of their old governance style, marked by "hooliganism" and "strong-arm politics."
At the rally in Bhojpur, Modi alleged that the RJD's actions were indicative of a return to "jungle raj" and warned that the alliance partners would turn against each other after the elections. He asserted that the ruling NDA represents unity and development, contrasting it with the opposition's alleged corruption and chaos.
In Nawada, Modi highlighted the NDA's commitment to farmers, promising an additional ₹3,000 under the state’s ‘Kapurgari Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme, on top of the ₹6,000 provided annually under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He emphasized that his government ensures that funds reach farmers without any cuts, recalling Rajiv Gandhi's remark about corruption in previous administrations.
Modi urged voters to reject those responsible for past governance failures, asserting that the NDA government is dedicated to building a developed Bihar as part of a Viksit Bharat. He also invoked national pride through Operation Sindoor and criticized the Congress for its handling of national security.
Polling for Bihar's 243 assembly seats is scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
