THE AZAD Maidan police have registered a case against six, including Bala Nandgaonkar, state vice president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), who organised ‘Satyacha Morcha’ (March for Truth) on Saturday in South Mumbai.
They have been booked for allegedly holding an unlawful assembly and defying prohibitory orders.
According to the police, more than 10,000 people gathered at Mahapalika Marg, and the protest was led by prominent leaders, including NCP (SP) Supremo Sharad Pawar along with several Congress leaders, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, and MNS president Raj Thackeray.
The case has been registered under relevant sections of 223 of the BNS along with 37 (3) and 135 of the BT Act pertaining to unlawful gathering and disobedience of government orders.
