After going undrafted and being waived by the Denver Broncos in 2009, former University of Toledo standout Brett Kern became the Tennessee Titans’ second ever Pro Bowl punter.

The ex-UT star was a member of the 2005 GMAC Bowl team where the Rockets beat the University of Texas at El Paso 45-3 for their seventh Bowl victory. He is still Toledo’s all-time leader in punting average 42.3 and second in season punting average 46.1 in 2007.

Kern spent 13 seasons in Nashville, two in Denver, and one in Philadelphia before retiring from the National Football League in 2022. He made the Pro Bowl in 2017, 2018, and 2019 and was a first team All-Pro selection in 2019.
