Agartala, 2 nd November 2025 : In a significant political development ahead of Tripura’s upcoming civic and assembly elections, 84 voters from 28 families formally joined the Indian National Congress, leaving behind the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), its ally IPFT and the opposition CPIM. The mass induction took place on November 1 at 6 PM during a grassroots Congress gathering held at Booth No. 49 in the tribal-dominated Kaskau Para area under the Panisagar assembly constituency.
