RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting early Sunday morning.

Officials said dispatch received multiple calls reporting gunfire at a large party on Beams Mill Road in Ellenboro.

Deputies said that while responding, they learned that two people had been shot. One was transported to a nearby hospital by Rutherford County EMS, while the other was transported by a personal vehicle. Both victims are currently receiving treatment.

When deputies arrived, numerous partygoers had already fled the scene.
